Another sunny & breezy day helped us make good progress along the undulating cliff top to . Then a steep descent to the narrow cleft-like Soap Cove. Rounding the rocks become more jagged before a rolling clifftop stroll steeply descending with steps down into with its three large rocks which can be reached at low tide. We had a cake stop at the photovoltaic solar cell-clad low-carbon cafe. A steep climb out along the cliff edge led to more open undulating walking onto Point by 3.15. Total walking time 5hrs. Total distance 10 miles Ascent 453m

The South West Coast Path is the longest of the official UK National Trails, running from Minehead in Somerset round the English south west peninsula coast to Poole in Dorset. The total length is just over 1000 kilometres or, more precisely, 630 miles. Only very dedicated walkers could contemplate completing the whole walk in one go, although plenty of people have done just this. Received opinion is that it would take around 6 weeks, even for the most dedicated.
